PRESENT: The Demographic is a loud/quiet guitar/drum duo from western Massachusetts featuring Tom Pappalardo (guitar & vocal) and Sturgis Cunningham (drums & backing vocal). We write short, concise rock songs with most of the bullshit cut out. For our latest album, 2021’s Hiatus, we rocked with bassist Marc Seedorf.
PAST: Tom & Sturg met at Turn It Up! CDs in the late ’90s and briefly played together in The No-Shadow Kick. We started The Dem in 2009 because we both wanted to play really loud and hard. We performed as a guitar/drum duo for a whole decade and then someone was like hey what about bass and we were like whaaaat no waaaay so I guess we’re a trio now sometimes?
FUTURE: The Demographic plays western Mass. shows very infrequently because we’re busy and Tom hates carrying his amp. So if you see a gig posted you jump on that shit.
We have three releases: Hiatus, Listen Close, and Verse Chorus Curse.
